About

Each fall, Hickok Cole partners with Washington Project for the Arts (WPA) to host Art Night, a juried art show and benefit event of 100+ local artists with proceeds going to further WPA’s mission: providing essential resources to support the creative spirit and success of regional artists. After 25 years, Art Night is one of DC’s preeminent art events and has raised over $2 million for WPA and the local artist community. Celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2025, Art Night promises to be a gathering to remember.

WPA Turns 50
Since 1975, Washington Project for the Arts (WPA) has been DC’s longest-running alternative contemporary arts organization, distributing over $200K annually to more than 250 artists and engaging over 1,300 audience members. The arts are what make Washington, DC, a vibrant place to live, work, and play, driving the cultural vitality that attracts top talent and strengthens our communities. With funding increasingly strained by budget cuts and canceled grants, your sponsorship support is more vital than ever. WPA champions creative innovation and risk-taking that keep our city dynamic and competitive.

Art Night brings artists, collectors, and the DC real estate community together in a unique celebration of art. Patrons can show their support in THREE ways: joining our Heavenly Host as a sponsor, engaging with and promoting artists through our social media campaign, andmost importantlyBUYING ART. As always, 100% of sales proceeds are shared equally between each artist and Washington Project for the Arts (WPA). This year’s virtual gallery, hosted here, will be open for one week and features 240+ works at various price points, offering compelling and affordable pieces for experienced and emerging collectors alike.

Artwork will be available to view when our sale opens at 6:30 PM on Thursday, October 16.

Until then, you can catch a sneak peek of this year's collection by following Hickok Cole on Instagram. Once the sale is open, we encourage you to claim your favorites while you can. Learn more about our buying process here
